Well, after a long time, the soundtracks I did for the independent game The Manifold are ready to be released.

Download both albums from: http://www.sendspace.com/file/8qijhr

The Aquaduct and Smerdis Kaleidoscope are the two parts - imagine them as brothers really. Both come from the same place and are similar but want to do and go different places. The artwork is by my own brother in fact, and his mad skills sit nicely on the front. He will be releasing some tunes himself soon indeed, and I have listened (and enjoyed) before anyone else. So there.

Anyway, I’ve stuck up a tune here so you can have a listen and get the general gist of Smerdis (as the Aquaduct has been circling around since January.) So please, give it a listen and let me know your thoughts! Word of warning - the albums are kinda ambient, so if that’s not your thing, maybe take with a grain of salt (or sugar - I find sugar is tasty all by itself, whereas salt is not.)

Short boring history - these songs have been floating around since August 2008 I suppose, and it’s taken a while for the game and sequencing and that to be all ready.

The game can be downloaded from http://www.sentient-mechanism.com/

It’s not fully completed - it’s beta test 1.0 infact, and is missing various sounds and is a little RAM hoggy. Put stick these soundtracks on, load it up and give it a go! It’s a puzzle horror game - something there are nowhere near enough of.

Some short snippets of music I have done for the Fox line of fishing accessories.

This is something I did today. Its a small rough snippet on what will probably become the main theme for Smerdis. Its more lively than the rest of the music and (at least to my mind) relatively catchy/evocative of the game.

Any thoughts/crits on this?

(Baring in mind its a short repetative snippet!)

Went back to Notts at the weekend for me wee brothers birthday, and today I got on with some Foley and a little bit more on the dubstep album I have been planning for a while. Here is an intro of one of the songs (demo of course!)

Gave blood yesterday and got completely wet, which kinda pursuaded me into doing no work at all. So today I’m making up for it with a whole pile of Foley.

A couple of weeks ago I did some showreel music for Victor Animation Studios, which is now up at http://www.victoranimationstudio.com

Here I have hosted one of the original versions of it.

It’s pretty moist outside, but thanks to Google and a bowl of salt, at least my windows aren’t steaming up as much.

Ambient guitar work.

This I have done today, and I’m pretty pleased with the sound. It’s pretty laidback and slightly dancy. Guitar and midi, processed with pedals + Audacity and compiled in Krystal. This morning also made good headway with some foley work for a friends film which I will post up when it’s finished.

Snow appears to be back again in force, will have to venture out at some point for tasty treats. Wish all my shoes were not giant slabs of rubber with no grip.

This is one of the things I created today. Not sure where I’m going to take it next, this is a baseplate for something hopefully good. Mainly an experiment in cutting up warm synths and seeing how repetative short phrases can be. Using MIDI keyboard and electric drums and processed guitar.

Compiled in Krystal
